Dr. Shuchi Deb (co-PI) of the Industrial, Manufacturing, and Systems Engineering (IMSE) Department is collaborating with Dr. Ming Li (PI) from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering to develop a stress map for bicyclists. This effort will use off-the-shelf smart-phone technology and models from big data to use cyclists’ physiological stress which will facilitate their route choice and improve safety. This proposed research has received a grant from the Center for Transportation, Equity, Decisions and Dollars (CTEDD), a USDOT (Tier-1) University Transportation Center, supported by the United States Department of Transportation. The grant supports two female faculties at UTA and three graduate students over one-year project period. The project has started on June 1, 2022.
